    Kits provide a double-level of protection by storing newspapers and magazines in archival quality Polyethylene Bags inside an archival Metal Edge Drop Front Box.

    Box sizes listed reflect interior measurements. Measure the length and width of your newspaper or magazine and order the appropriate kit.

    The Desiccants removes excess moisture from the box interior. If you don't need the desiccant see Newspaper & Magazine Storage Kits.

    Each kit comes with one Adhesive Back Vinyl Label to label the outside of your box.

  • Features

    Your kit includes a 3'' Drop Front Metal Edge Box, 10 Polyethylene Bags, a Metal or Cloth Desiccant for humidity control, and a Adhesive Back Vinyl Label.

    Place your newspaper or magazine in a poly bag and then into the drop front box along with your desiccant. Do not “stress” newspapers by packing them tightly in the storage box. Instead, pack them rather loosely.

    The desiccants contain non-toxic silica beads that absorb moisture from the air. Eventually they will become saturated and need to be reactivated. The metal desiccant can be reactivated in a conventional oven only, the cloth desiccant in a microwave or an oven.

    Store your kit in a cool, dry environment such as a closet in your living space. Avoid temperature and humidity extremes found in basements or attics.

    Desiccants are designed to dehumidify small enclosed spaces. Once the outer packaging is open it will begin to absorb moisture.

    Cloth Desiccant: When the blue indicator square turns from blue to pink it is time to recharge. You can recharge in a microwave for 3 minutes at the 8 power setting. See Resources tab for detailed instructions.

    Metal Desiccant: When the desiccant beads change from orange to dark green it indicates that a saturation point has been reached. Metal canisters can be reactivated in a conventional oven only. DO NOT MICROWAVE!
